1.2 relating to workforce development; appropriating money for a grant to the​
1.3 Minnesota Grocers Association Foundation for the Carts to Careers initiative.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; CARTS TO CAREERS.​
1.6 $750,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $750,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the​
1.7workforce development fund to the commissioner of employment and economic development​
1.8for grants to the Minnesota Grocers Association Foundation for Carts to Careers, a statewide​
1.9initiative to promote careers in the food industry, conduct outreach, provide job skills​
1.10training, and award scholarships for students pursuing careers in the food industry. The​
1.11amount may also be used for training and development costs, certifications, and other​
1.12activities aimed at strengthening the workforce pipeline in the food retail sector. This is a​
1.13onetime appropriation.​
