1.2 relating to low-income support; appropriating money for a grant to Greater
1.3 Minneapolis Council of Churches for drop-in support services.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; GREATER MINNEAPOLIS COUNCIL OF
1.6CHURCHES DROP-IN SUPPORT SERVICES.
1.7 $250,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $250,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from the
1.8general fund to the commissioner of children, youth, and families for a grant to Greater
1.9Minneapolis Council of Churches to provide drop-in support services. Grant funds must be
1.10used to provide:
1.11 (1) hot, prepared meals and takeaway food bags that increase access to nutritious, healthy,
1.12and culturally appropriate food;
1.13 (2) hygiene supplies, including towels and washcloths, toothpaste and toothbrushes,
1.14shampoo and soap, menstrual products, and clean clothes and undergarments;
1.15 (3) hats, gloves, hand warmers, and blankets; and
1.16 (4) access to resources for housing, employment, and social services.
