1.2 relating to health care; regulating prepayments for certain dental services; amending​
1.3 Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 150A.11, by adding a subdivision.​
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.5 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 150A.11, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.6to read:​
1.7 Subd. 5.Prepayment for certain dental services.For dental services in a dental​
1.8treatment plan scheduled to take more than 90 days to complete, a dentist or dental practice​
1.9is prohibited from requiring the patient to prepay any portion of the amount owed for the​
1.10dental services before beginning to provide the dental services. Upon beginning to provide​
1.11dental services to the patient according to a dental treatment plan scheduled to take more​
1.12than 90 days to complete, a dentist or dental practice must allow the patient to pay for the​
1.13dental services with at least two payments due at least 30 days apart.​
