1.2 relating to arts and cultural heritage; appropriating money to Seeds Worth Sowing.​
1.3BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.4 Section 1. APPROPRIATION; SEEDS WORTH SOWING.​
1.5 $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2026 and $1,000,000 in fiscal year 2027 are appropriated from​
1.6the arts and cultural heritage fund to the commissioner of administration for a grant to Seeds​
1.7Worth Sowing to celebrate and sustain the traditions, histories, and community practices​
1.8of African American and African immigrant families in Minnesota; strengthen community​
1.9ties; amplify African heritage narratives; and provide accessible cultural programming that​
1.10fosters collective resilience and belonging for future generations. This appropriation may​
1.11be used for intergenerational learning programs, youth engagement, cultural preservation​
1.12efforts, educational workshops, storytelling projects, and community-based events that uplift​
1.13Black ancestral knowledge, land-based traditions, and mutual aid practices.​
