                    1.1	A bill for an act​
1.2 relating to health; modifying the professions that may serve as a medical consultant​
1.3 for a community health board; amending Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 145A.02,​
1.4 subdivision 15.​
1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 145A.02, subdivision 15, is amended to read:​
1.7 Subd. 15.Medical consultant."Medical consultant" means an individual who:​
1.8 (1) is licensed in Minnesota by the Board of Medical Practice as a physician licensed to​
1.9practice medicine in Minnesota who, doctor of osteopathic medicine, or physician assistant​
1.10or is licensed in Minnesota by the Board of Nursing as an advanced practice registered nurse​
1.11and is certified to practice as a clinical nurse specialist or nurse practitioner by a national​
1.12nurse certification organization acceptable to the board; and​
1.13 (2) is working under a written agreement with, employed by, or on contract with a​
1.14community health board to provide advice and information, to authorize medical procedures​
1.15through protocols, and to assist a community health board and its staff in coordinating their​
1.16activities with local medical practitioners and health care institutions.​
