1.2 relating to early childhood programs; appropriating money for the ParentChild+
1.3 program.
1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:
1.5 Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS; PARENTCHILD+ PROGRAM.
1.6 Subdivision 1.Department of Children, Youth, and Families.The sums indicated in
1.7this section are appropriated from the general fund to the Department of Children, Youth,
1.8and Families in the fiscal years designated.
1.9 Subd. 2.ParentChild+ program.(a) For a grant to the ParentChild+ program:
2026.....1,800,0001.10 $
2027.....1,800,0001.11 $
1.12 (b) The ParentChild+ program must use the grant to implement its evidence-based and
1.13research-validated early childhood literacy and school readiness program for children ages
1.1416 months to four years. The program must be implemented at existing ParentChild+ program
1.15locations, including Cass County, Hennepin County, and Rice County, and the cities of
1.16Rochester and St. Cloud, or at any new rural, suburban, or urban locations.
1.17 (c) The base is $1,800,000 for fiscal year 2028 and later.
