1.5BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA:​
1.6 Section 1. Minnesota Statutes 2024, section 204B.32, is amended by adding a subdivision​
1.7to read:​
1.8 Subd. 3.Contributions for election expenses prohibited.Notwithstanding any home​
1.9rule charter or local ordinance to the contrary, a county, municipality, or school district may​
1.10not accept a contribution, in any form, from a for-profit business or a nonprofit organization​
1.11made for the purpose of paying expenses associated with conducting a federal, state, or​
1.12local election.​
