1.1 A bill for an act 1.2 relating to transit; requiring the Metropolitan Council to publish monthly ridership 1.3 numbers and quarterly crime statistics. 1.4BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1.5 Section 1. MASS TRANSIT REPORTS; RIDERSHIP; CRIME. 1.6 (a) The Metropolitan Council must post on the council's website a monthly report 1.7including ridership statistics for each guideway and busway in revenue operation. In each 1.8report, the council must also include the ridership projections made at the time of the full 1.9funding grant agreement for each guideway and busway. The council must post each monthly 1.10report within 60 days after the end of that month. The council must ensure that a report is 1.11available on the council's website for a minimum of five years after the report is posted. 1.12 (b) The council must post on the council's website a quarterly report including crime 1.13statistics for crimes occurring on a light rail transit vehicle, bus, commuter rail car, or at 1.14any transit platform, stop, or facility. The report must break down the data by mode of transit 1.15and type of crime.
