Thisbillestablishesthe"DefendtheGuardAct".
Thisbillspecifiesthat,theMissouriNationalGuardandany
memberthereofshallnotbereleasedfromthestateintoactive
dutycombat,asdefinedinthebill,unlesstheUnitedStates
Congresshaspassedanofficialdeclarationofwartoexplicitly
callforththeMissouriNationalGuard.TheGovernorshalltake
allactionsnecessarytocomplywiththerequirementsofthisbill.
NothinginthisbilllimitsorprohibitstheGovernorfrom
consentingtothedeploymentofanyNationalGuardmemberunder
Title32oftheUnitedStatesCode.
ThisbillshallbeeffectiveonJanuaryfirstoftheyearfollowing
thenoticetotheRevisorofStatutesthatatleast10otherstates
haveenactedlegislationwithprovisionssimilartothisbill.
