Thisbillallowsaplanoftreatmentfollowedbyahomehealth
agencytobereviewedandsignedbyanadvancedpracticeregistered
nurseoraphysicianassistant. Currentlylawonlyallowsfora
physicianorpodiatrist.
ThisbillremovesthecurrentrequirementthatAdvancedPractice
RegisteredNurses(APRN)whohaveenteredintocollaborative
practiceagreementscompleteaonemonthperiodinwhichtheAPRN
mustpracticewiththecollaboratingphysiciancontinuously
present. Thisbillstillrequiressomeperiodofpracticewiththe
physiciancontinuouslypresent,butdoesnotspecifythelengthof
timerequiredforthatperiod.
ThisbillremovesarequirementforAPRNstosubmitaminimumof
10%ofthechartsdocumentingtheAPRN'sdeliveryofhealthcare
servicestotheircollaboratingphysicianforreview.
Currently,APRNsprovidingnursingservicesunderacollaborative
practicearrangementcanonlypracticewithin75milesofthe
collaboratingphysician,withcertainexceptions. Thisbill
removesthegeographicproximityrequirements.
Thisbillhasanemergencyclause.
