Thisbillestablishesthe"FloodResiliencyAct",whichcreatesa
floodresiliencyprogramadministeredbytheDepartmentofNatural
ResourcestoincreasefloodresiliencyalongtheMissouriand
MississippiRiversandtheirtributariesandtoimprovestatewide
floodforecastingandmonitoringability. Thestatemay
participateinfloodresiliencyprojectsassetforthinthebill.
Thebilldefinesa"plan"asapreliminaryreportdescribingthe
needfor,andimplementation of,floodresiliencymeasures,and
requiresthatitincludecertaininformation. TheDirectorofthe
DepartmentofNaturalResourcescanonlyapproveplansifitis
determinedthatlong-termfloodmitigationisneededinthatarea
ofthestate,andthatsuchaplanproposesfloodresiliency
measuresthatwillprovidelong-termfloodresiliency.
Thisbillcreatesthe"FloodResiliencyImprovementFund.Flood
resiliencyprojectsmaybefundedbymoneysintheFundandsuch
projectscanbeeligibletoreceiveothercontributionsandgrants.
