ThisbillprovidesthatanyUnitedStatescitizenorimmigrantwho
appliesforadriver'slicenseorinstructionpermit,ratherthan
justamale,whoislessthan26yearsofagemustcomplywiththe
federalMilitarySelectiveServiceAct,unlesstheapplicant
declinestoconsenttoregistrationunderthebill.
Anapplicant'ssignatureontheapplicationservesasindication
thattheapplicanthasalreadyregisteredwiththeSelective
ServiceSystemorconsentstoregistrationifrequiredbylaw.
TheDepartmentofRevenuemustplaceastatementontheapplication
indicatingthatiftheapplicantdeclinestogiveconsentto
registration,heorshemustsignwhereindicated. Persons
requiredtoregisterwhofailtodosomaybedeniedcertain
Federalaccessandbenefits.
