Currently,fundsoftheMissouriVeterans'HealthandCareFund underArticleXIVoftheMissouriConstitutionstandappropriated withoutfurtherlegislativeaction.Uponvoterapproval,this proposedConstitutional amendmentwouldsubjectdisbursementsof suchfundstoappropriationbytheGeneralAssembly. Further,thisConstitutional amendmentprovidesthatuseofsuch fundsshallbeexpandedtoprovidedisbursementsforconstruction ofadditionalveteranshomesandsuicideprevention. PROPONENTS: Supporterssaythatthisresolutiongivesthe legislatureoversightofthemedicalmarijuanaprogrambyproviding thelegislaturetheabilitytoappropriate. Currently,thereisno appropriationrequiredinthefundingmechanismofthemedical marijuanaprogramandthelegislatureshouldhavetheoversight functioninordertoensurefundsarespentappropriately.
