CROUSE, Secretary JOINT RESOLUTION Submitting to the qualified voters of Missouri, an amendment repealing section 18(b) of article VI of the Constitution of Missouri, and adopting one new section in lieu thereof relating to the office of assessor in charter counties. Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring therein: That at the next gener al election to be held in the 1 state of Missouri, on Tuesday next following the first Monday 2 in November, 2022, or at a special election to be called by 3 the governor for that purpose, there is hereby submitted to 4 the qualified voters of this state, for adop tion or 5 rejection, the following amendment to article VI of the 6 Constitution of the state of Missouri:7 Section A. Section 18(b), article VI, Constitution of 1 Missouri, is repealed and one new section adopted in lieu 2 thereof, to be known as se ction 18(b), to read as follows:3 Section 18(b). The charter shall provide for its 1 amendment, for the form of the county government, the 2 number, kinds, manner of selection, terms of office and 3 salaries of the county officers, and for the exercise of all 4 powers and duties of counties and county officers prescribed 5 by the constitution and laws of the state; however, such 6 charter shall[, except for the charter of any county with a 7 charter form of government and with more than six hundred 8 SJR 46 2 thousand but fewer than seven hundred thousand inhabitants, ] 9 require the assessor of the county to be an elected officer. 10
