Apersoncommitstheoffenseofmailtheftifthepersonpurposefullytakesmailfromanother
person'smailboxorpremiseswithouttheconsentoftheaddresseeandwithintenttodeprivethe
addresseeofthemail.TheoffenseofmailtheftisaclassAmisdemeanorforafirstoffenseanda
classEfelonyforasecondorsubsequentoffense.Thebilldoesnotprohibitapersonfrombeing
chargedwith,convictedof,orsentencedforanyotherviolationoflawcommittedbythatperson
usingmailinviolationoftheprovisionsofthisbill.
