Currently,whenamentalhealthcoordinatorreceivesinformation
allegingthataperson,astheresultofamentaldisorder,
presentsalikelihoodofimminentandseriousharmtothemselvesor
others,andhasfiledanapplicationwiththecourtunderthe
appropriatejurisdictionrequestingthattheindividualbetaken
intocustody,thementalhealthcoordinatorisrequiredtorequest
apeaceofficertotakethepersonexperiencingamentaldisorder
intocustodyandtransportthepersontoamentalhealthfacility.
Thisbillmodifiesthatrequirementtoallowthementalhealth
coordinatortorequestapeaceofficeroranyothercapable
individualororganizationtoprovidethetransportation.
