Thisbillchangestherequirementsforaninvestigatorwiththe
OfficeoftheStateFireMarshalwithintheDepartmentofPublic
Safety.
Thebillrepealstherequirementsthatinvestigatorsmust:
(1)Beatleast25yearsoldandhaveeitheraminimumof5years’
experienceinfireriskinspection,prevention,orinvestigation
work,oradegreeinfireprotectionengineering;
(2)BeataxpayingresidentofMissouriforatleastthreeyears
immediatelyprecedinghisorherappointment;and
(3)Possessordinaryphysicalstrengthandpassaphysicaland
mentalexamination.
Thisbilladdstherequirementthatanyoneappointedasan
investigatorshallbearesidentofMissouriatthetimeof
appointmentandallowsaninvestigatororemployeetoholdanother
commissionoroffice,electiveorappointive,oracceptanyother
employmentwhileheorsheisemployedbytheStateFireMarshalas
longastheotheremployment,appointment,orelectedpositiondoes
notposeaconflictofinterestwhileemployedasaninvestigator
oremployee.
