ThefollowingisasummaryoftheHouseCommitteeSubstituteforHB 668. ThisbillallowstheDepartmentofEconomicDevelopmentto distributeone-timegrantstoemployersforthepurposeof enhancingcybersecurity, asdefinedinthebill,tocoverupto90% ofcybersecurityenhancementcosts. Indistributinggrants,theDepartmentshallfirstgivepriorityto anycompanycontractingwiththestateforthepurposeof protectingcriticalinfrastructure. Followingthispriority,the Departmentshallreserve50%ofgrantfundingforqualifying employerswithnomorethan50employeesuntilJanuary1,after whichanyamountofsuchreservedamountsmaybeissuedtoany otherwiseeligibleemployer. Anemployerwhoreceivesagrantshallsubmitdocumentationwithin oneyearfromdistributionshowinghowthegrantfundswerespent.
