HB700--REFUSALOFMEDICALPROCEDURESORTREATMENT SPONSOR: Hardwick Nopublicbody,politicalsubdivision,publicschooldistrict, statedepartmentoragency,publicofficial,peaceofficer,or personappointedbytheGovernoractinginanofficialcapacity shall: (1)RequireanypersontoreceiveaCOVID-19vaccination; (2)ConditionanypersonalrightorpublicserviceonaCOVID-19 vaccination;or (3)Imposeanyfine,tax,orcriminalorcivilpenaltyonaCOVID- 19vaccination. Additionally,anemployeeshallbeexemptfromanemployer's requirementtoreceivemedicaltreatmentasaconditionof employmentandshallnotbesubjecttoadverseemploymentaction fordecliningtoreceivethetreatmentif: (1)Theemployeeholdsasincerelyheldreligiousbeliefthat forbidstheemployeefromreceivingthetreatmentandthe reasonableaccommodationofsuchbeliefwouldnotposeanundue hardshipontheemployer;or (2)Thevaccineisharmfulfortheemployeeaccordingtoa licensedphysicianbasedontheemployee'smedicalsituation. An employeewhoserightsunderthisprovisionhavebeenviolatedshall beeligibleforWorkers'Compensationforanyinjuriessustainedas aresultoftheemployer'srequirementformedicaltreatment.
