Currently,apersoncaringforuptosixchildren,withamaximum
ofthreechildrenundertheageoftwo,canoperateanunlicensed
childcarefacility. Underthisbill,thatwouldchangetoa
personcaringforfourchildren,withamaximumoftwochildren
undertheageofoneandamaximumoffourchildrenundertheage
oftwo.
Currently,uptotwochildrenwhoarefiveyearsoldorolderthat
arerelatedtothechildcareproviderwithinthethirddegreewill
notbeincludedinthemaximumnumberofchildrenforwhichthe
familychildcarehomeislicensed. Thisbillallowsuptofour
childrenrelatedtothechildcareproviderwithinthethirddegree
tonotbecounted,regardlessofthechild'sageorifthereare
multiplemembersresponsibleforthechildcarehomethathave
relatedchildrenbeingservedthere.
Thisbillalsoallowsapersonwhooperatesalicensedchildcare
facilitywithonlyoneadultcaregivertocareforuptotwo
childrenundertheageofonewiththemaximumoffourchildren
undertheageoftwo.Suchchildrenshallbeincludedinthe
maximumnumberofchildrenallowedbytheDepartmentofElementary
andSecondaryEducationforpersonsoperatingalicensedchildcare
facilitywithonlyoneadultcaregiver.
