Thisbillrequiresthatallassistedlivingfacilitiesand
residentialcarefacilitiesequip,ineachtoiletroomandresident
bedroomaswellastheattendant'sworkarea,anattendantcall
systemthatconsistsofanelectricalintercommunication system,a
wirelesspagersystem,abuzzersystem,orhandandanalogbells.
Foreverycallmadebyaresidentusingthesystem,thelengthof
timethatelapsesbetweenthecallandtheresponsetothecallby
theattendantmustberecorded,andalogofsuchresponsetimes
mustbeavailabletotheDepartmentofHealthandSeniorServices
duringanyinspection.
TheDepartmentshallestablishastandardforthemaximumallowable
lengthoftimetoelapsebetweenacallmadebyaresidentusing
thecallsystemandtheresponsetothecallbytheattendant. Any
failurebyafacilitytomeetthisstandardshallbeconsidereda
deficiencytobenotedinthesurveyreport.
