Inthisbill,exceptaspermittedunderfederallaw,nopersoncan
receivecompensationforadvisingorassistinganyindividualwith
regardtoanyveteransbenefitsmatter.
Ifsomeoneisadvisingorassistinganyindividualwithregardto
anyveteransbenefits,heorshecannotguaranteethatany
individualwillreceivespecificveteransbenefitsorthatany
individualisguaranteedtoreceiveaspecificlevel,percentage,
oramountofveteransbenefits. Theindividualwhoisproviding
theadvisingservicesmustprovidethefollowingdiscloser:
"Thisbusinessisnotsponsoredby,oraffiliatedwith,theUnited
StatesDepartmentofVeteransAffairsortheMissouriVeterans
Commission,oranyotherfederallycharteredveteransservice
organization.Otherorganizations, including,butnotlimitedto,
theMissouriVeteransCommission,yourlocalveteransservice
agency,andotherfederallycharteredveteransservice
organizations, maybeabletoprovideyouwiththisservicefreeof
charge.Productsorservicesofferedbythisbusinessarenot
necessarilyendorsedbyanyoftheseorganizations. Youmay
qualifyforotherveteransbenefitsbeyondthebenefitsforwhich
youarereceivingserviceshere."
Thisbillalsoprohibitsanypersonfromreceivingcompensationfor
referringanyindividualtoanotherpersontoadviseorassistthe
individualwithveteransbenefits.
Anypersonwhoviolatestheprovisionsofthisbillcanbefound
guiltyofaclassAmisdemeanor.
Thisbillfurtheraddsmultipleprovisionsrelatingtoveterans.
