ThisbillrequirestheStateBoardofEducationtodevelopadriver
educationinstructionandtrainingprogramtobeofferedaspartof
thehealthcurriculuminpublicandcharterschoolstopupilsin
grades10to12.Theinstructionandtrainingshallbemade
availablebythe2025-26schoolyearanddistrictsandcharter
schoolswilloffersuchinstructionorasimilarprogram. The
instructionshallinclude,butisnotlimitedto,habitsandskills
necessaryforthesafeoperationofmotorvehicles,distracted
drivinghazards,andtrafficstopprocedures.
Theinstructiondoesnotrequirephysicaloperationofavehicle
andthebilldoesnotprohibitschoolsfromofferingadditional
drivereducationcourses.
