Currently,theDepartmentofNaturalResourcesisprohibitedfrom
issuingapermitfortheoperationofasolidwastedisposalarea
designedtoserveacitywithapopulationgreaterthan400,000
inhabitantslocatedinmorethanonecounty,ifthesiteislocated
withinone-halfmileofanadjoiningmunicipalitywithoutthe
adjoiningmunicipality's approval.
Thisbillchangestherequireddistancefromtheadjoining
municipalityfromone-halfmiletoonemile,andmakestheonemile
distanceapplytosolidwasteprocessingfacilities,demolition
landfills,andsanitarylandfillsinadditiontosolidwaste
disposalareas.
