Oversight has presented this fiscal note on the best current information that we have or on prior year information regarding a similar bill. Oversight notes this section of the proposal will become effective November 6, 2024 (Section B). §182.645 – Consolidated Public Library Districts In response to a previous version, officials from the Office of the Secretary of State (SOS), the Office of the State Auditor, the Mid-Continent Public Library and the Rolling Hills Consolidated Library each assumed the proposal will have no fiscal impact on their respective organizations. Oversight does not have any information to the contrary. Therefore, Oversight will reflect a zero impact in the fiscal note for these agencies. Oversight notes according to the SOS’s website there are 12 counties (Cooper, Pettis, Benton, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, Barry, Jackson, Clay, Platte, Buchanan & Andrew) in the state that have consolidated public library districts as listed in the chart below: L.R. Oversight only reflects the responses received from state agencies and political subdivisions; however, counties, local election authorities and public library districts were requested to respond to this proposed legislation but did not.
