SectionA.Section43.080,RSMo,isrepealedandonenewsectionenactedinlieu
2thereof,tobeknownassection43.080,toreadasfollows:
43.080.1.Thesuperintendentisauthorizedandempoweredtoprescribepolicies
2providingforincreasesinthesalariesofmembersofthehighwaypatrol.Eachyear,priorto
3Januaryfirst,thesuperintendentshallsubmitasalaryschedulereporttothegovernor,speaker
4ofthehouseofrepresentatives,andthepresidentprotemofthesenate.Thesalaryschedule
5reportpreparedbythesuperintendentshallinclude,inadditiontoothermattersdeemed
6pertinenttothesuperintendent,acomparisonofthesalariesofpoliceofficersofthethree
7largestpolicedepartmentsinthestateandacomparisonofthesalariesandbenefitsof
8policeofficersemployedbythefollowinglawenforcementagencieslocatedin
9surroundingstates:

11 (2)TheNebraskaStatePatrol;
12 (3)TheIllinoisStatePolice;
13 (4)TheKentuckyStatePolice;
14 (5)TheTennesseeHighwayPatrol;

17 (8)TheKansasHighwayPatrol.

24patrolshalltestifybeforetheappropriatecommitteeonthesalaryschedulereportifcalled
25uponbysuchcommittee.The"service"ofamemberofthepatrol,whohasservedinthe
26ArmedForcesoftheUnitedStatesandwhohassubsequentlybeenreinstatedasamemberof
27thepatrolwithinninetydaysafterreceivingadischargeotherthandishonorablefromthe
28ArmedForcesoftheUnitedStates,shallbeconsideredservicewiththepatrolasamemberof
29thepatrolrenderedsincelastbecomingamemberpriortoentranceintotheArmedForcesof
30theUnitedStates;exceptthatnomembershallbeentitledtoanycredit,privilegeorbenefit
31providedbythischapterifsuchmembervoluntarilyextendsorparticipatesinanextensionof
32theperiodofservice,whetherbyreenlistment,waiverofdischarge,acceptanceof
33commissionoranyotheraction,withtheArmedForcesbeyondtheperiodofservicefor
34whichsuchmemberwasoriginallycommissioned,enlisted,inductedorcalled.
