Thisbillauthorizesasentencingcourttoreduceasentenceof
lifewithouteligibilityforprobationorparoleorreducea
sentenceof30yearsormoretoasentenceoflifewitheligibility
forprobationorparoleiftheconvictedpersonhasservedatleast
30years,wasunder20yearsofageatthetimeoftheoffense,has
madereasonableeffortstowardrehabilitation, andhasexhibited
modelcitizenbehaviorwithinthecorrectionalfacility.
Theoffenderisrequiredtoprovideavarietyofmaterialtothe
paroleboardtobeeligibleforsupervisedreleaseasacondition
ofparole,asprovidedinthebill.
Thedivisionofprobationandparolewillsuperviseanyconvicted
personreceivingareductionofsentenceundertheprovisionsof
thisbillforthedurationoftheconvictedperson'snaturallife.
