Underthisbill,anemployerorgroupofemployerswhohavebeen
grantedself-insuranceauthoritybytheDivisionofWorkers'
Compensationtoinsuretheirworkers'compensationliabilities,may
contractforadditionalsupplementalinsurancecoveragefor
volunteerfirefighterstocoveradditionalpaymentofworkers'
compensationbenefitsowedunderthelaw,includingtemporarytotal
disabilitybenefitsunderSection287.250,RSMo.
Underthebill,avolunteerfiredepartment,countyorregional
associationofvolunteerfiredepartments,municipalities orgroups
ofemployersauthorizedtoself-insuretheirworkers'compensation
liabilities,maycontributeinpartorinwholetothepaymentof
premiumsforthepurchaseofsupplementalinsurancecoverage. In
addition,acountyoramunicipalgoverningbodymayuseproceeds
fromthecountyormunicipaltaxesnotearmarkedforotherpurposes
toprovidefortheadditionalsupplementalinsurancecoverage.
