Thisbillputsrestrictionsonbailfordefendantswhohavebeen
determinedtobeprioroffendersofmisdemeanorsinvolvingcrimes
ofviolence,sexualoffenses,orfelonyoffensesinthisstateor
anyotherstateinthelastfiveyears.Thebillalsorequiresa
releasehearingtobeconductedwithin48hoursofarrest,andthe
prosecutingorcircuitattorneywillhavetheburdentoprovethe
defendantposesaflightriskorisadangertothecommunity.
Thebillalsorequiresanyexecutedbailbondtoreflectthe
seriousnessofthecurrentchargeandensuretheamountis
sufficientlyhightodeterflight.
Currently,adefendantcanberequiredtoreportregularlytosome
officerofthecourt,orpeaceofficer,asorderedbythejudge.
Thisbilladdsthattheoffendermustmeetevery30daysifthe
offenderisapreviousoffenderofcertaincrimes.
