Thisbilmodifiesdefinitionsandrepealstheterms"Down
Syndrome","unbornchild",and"viability","viable",or"viable
pregnancy"asthosetermspertaintoChapter188,RSMo,governing
theregulationofabortions. Italsorepealstheterm"abortion
facility"throughoutvarioussectionsofstatutegoverning
provisionsincluding,butnotlimitedto,datasubmissionsby
certainhealthcareproviders,licensingrequirementsfor
facilities,inspections,andthescopeofpracticeforhealthcare
providers.
Thisbillalsorepealsseveralsectionsofstatuterelatingto
abortion,including,butnotlimitedto,the"RighttoLifeofthe
UnbornChildAct",whichprohibitsabortionsfrombeingperformed
orinducedinthisstateexceptformedicalemergencies,
administration requirementsofmifepristone,theprohibitionof
abortionsbeingperformedofviableunbornchildren,the72-hour
requiredwaitingperiodpriortotheperformanceofanabortion,
physicianreportingrequirementsfollowingtheperformanceofan
abortion,andtheprohibitionsofabortionsaftereight,14,and18
weeksofpregnancy.
