Thisbillrequireshomeinsurerstocoverincreasedlivingexpenses
ifagunviolenceincidentmakesthepropertyuninhabitable. This
includestemporaryhousing,increasedtransportation costs,meals,
andnecessarylivingexpenses. Insurerssetlimitsoncoverage
amountsortimeperiodsforadditionallivingexpenses. Coverage
continuesuntilrepairsaredoneortheinsuredpermanently
relocates,subjecttopolicylimits.
Theinsuredmustnotifytheinsurerimmediately,provide
documentation, andcooperatewithinvestigations.
Coveragestartsoncethepropertyisuninhabitable. Aninsurercan
imposeawaitingperiodofupto48hoursbeforecoveragebecomes
effective.
