Currently,sheriffsotherthanthesheriffsoftheCityofSt.
LouisandofSt.LouisCountyarerequiredtoholdavalidpeace
officerlicensetobeeligibletoholdtheofficeofsheriff. This
billrepealstheprovisionexcludingthesheriffoftheCityofSt.
Louis,thusrequiringhimorhertohaveavalidpeaceofficer
licensetoqualifytobesheriff.
Thebillalsorequirestheannualcompensationforsheriffs'
deputiesintheCityofSt.Louistobeatleast$50,000,andit
requiresthesherifftofixthecompensationfordeputyassistants.
