Currently,thetrusteesofafivememberboardofacommonsewer
districtmaybepaidareasonablecompensationfortheirservices,
ifapprovedbyaresolutionoftheboardoftrustees. Thetrustees
ofa10memberboardoftrusteesofacommonsewerdistrictandthe
trusteesofareorganizedcommonsewerdistrictcannotreceiveany
compensationfortheirservices.
Thisbillallowsthetrusteesofbothcommonandreorganizedcommon
sewerdistrictstobepaidupto$100permeeting,butnotformore
thantwomeetingspercalendarmonth,bythedistrictfortheir
service. Membersofafivememberboardofacommonsewerdistrict
mayalsoreceivecompensationfortheirservicesoutsidetheir
dutiesastrustee.
ThebillexemptstheLittleBlueValleySewerDistrictfromthenew
compensationprovisions.
ThisbillisthesameasHB697(2023)andHB2476(2024).
PROPONENTS: Supporterssaythatthisbillwouldgivemembersof
reorganizedsewerdistrictsthesamecompensationasothersewer
districts. Itissometimesdifficulttofindpeoplewillingto
jointheseboardsandcompensationcouldprovideasmallincentive
forthis.
