Currently,anexcursionboatlicenseemustpayanadmissionfeeof
$2.00foreachpersonembarkingonagamblingboatwithaticketof
admission. The$2.00feeissplitevenly,with$1.00deposited
intotheGamingCommissionFund,and$1.00paidtothehomedock
cityorcounty.
Thisbillincreasestheadmissionfeethatalicenseemustpayto
$52tobeallocatedinthefollowingmanner:
(1)$1totheGamingCommissionFund;
(2)$1paidtothehomedockcityorcounty;
(3)$25totheVeteransCommissionCapitalImprovementTrustFund;
and
(4)$25totheMissouriHistoricSteamboatMuseumFund.
Currently,ataxisimposedonthegrossreceiptsfromgambling
boatgamesatarateof21%.Thebillincreasestherateoftaxto
25%.
Thisbillestablishesthe"MissouriHistoricSteamboatMuseum
Fund,"intowhich$25willbedepositedfromfeespaidon
admissionstogamblingboats.Moneysfromthefundwillbeusedas
follows:
(1)Fortheconstruction,maintenance,andoperationofanewly
createdsteamboatmuseum,withthepurposeofhousingand
displayingbooks,maps,artifacts,recoveredsteamboatstructures,
andanyothermaterialrelatedtothesignificanceofsteamboat
historyinMissouri;and
(2)Fortheacquisitionandpreservationofbooks,maps,
artifacts,recoveredsteamboatstructures,andanyothermaterial
relatedtothesignificanceofsteamboathistoryinMissouri.
Thisprogramsunsetssixyearsaftertheeffectivedate.
