Underthisbill,atransportation networkcompany(TNC)mustnot
permitanindividualtoactasaTNCdriveronitsdigitalnetwork
ifthedriverisnotaUScitizenorauthorizedtoworkundera
currentemploymentauthorizationdocument. Inaddition,whenaTNC
driver'semploymentauthorizationdocumentexpires,theTNCmust
immediatelyrevokethedriver'sabilitytoaccepttriprequests
fromtheTNC'sdigitalplatformandnotifytheDepartmentof
Revenueofthedriver'sname,licensenumber,andlicenseplate
number.
ThebillestablishestheoffenseofimpersonatingaTNCdriveras
specifiedinthebill,andmakesitaclassAmisdemeanor.
However,theoffenseisclassifiedasaclassCfelonyif,during
thecommissionoftheoffense,aTNCdriverengagesinafelony
offensethatcausesgreatbodilyharmtoanotherperson,orcommits
theoffenseofkidnapping,orasexualoffenseasspecifiedinthe
bill.TheoffenseisclassifiedasaclassAfelonyiftheperson
impersonatesaTNCdriverduringthecommissionofanyfelony
offensethatcausesthedeathofanotherperson.
