55.160.Theauditorofeachcountyofthefirstclassificationnothavingacharterform
2ofgovernmentandofeachcountyofthesecondclassificationshallkeepaninventoryofall
3countypropertyunderthecontrolandmanagementofthevariousofficersanddepartments
4andshallannuallytakeaninventoryofsuchpropertyatanoriginalvalueofonethousand
5dollarsormoreshowingtheamount,locationandestimatedvaluethereof.Theauditorshall
6keepaccountsofallappropriationsandexpendituresmadebythecountycommission,andno
7warrantshallbedrawnorobligationincurredwithouttheauditor'scertificationthatan
8unencumberedbalance,sufficienttopaythesame,remainintheappropriateaccountorinthe
9anticipatedrevenuefundagainstwhichsuchwarrantorobligationistobecharged.The

32 validatingthecertifiedtraining,shallsubmittheindividual'snametothe
33 countytreasureranddepartmentofhealthandseniorservicesindicatingthe
34 individualiscompliantwiththetrainingrequirements.Expensesincurredfor
35 attendingthetrainingsessionmaybereimbursedtothecountycoronerinthe
36 samemannerasotherexpensesasmaybeappropriatedforthatpurpose.All
37 electedorappointedcoroners,deputycoroners,andassistantstothecoroner
38 shallcompletetheannualtrainingdescribedinthissubsectionwithinsix
39 monthsofelectionorappointment.
40 3.Thecountycoronerinanycountynothavingacharterformof
41 governmentshallnot,exceptupontwo-thirdsvoteofallthemembersofthe
42 salarycommission,receiveanannualcompensationinanamountlessthanthe
43 totalcompensationbeingreceivedfortheofficeofcountycoronerinthe
44 particularcountyforservicesrenderedorperformedonthedatethesalary
45 commissionvotes.
46 4.Forthetermbeginningin1997,thecompensationofthecoroner,in
47 countiesinwhichthesalarycommissionhasnotvotedtopayonehundred
48 percentofthemaximumallowablesalary,shallbeapercentageofthe
49 maximumallowablesalaryestablishedbythissection.Thepercentageapplied
50 shallbethesamepercentageofthemaximumallowablesalaryreceivedor
51 allowed,whicheverisgreater,tothepresidingcommissionerorsheriff,
52 whicheverisgreater,ofthatcountyfortheyearbeginningJanuary1,1997.In
53 thosecountiesinwhichthesalarycommissionhasvotedtopayonehundred

30departmentofhealthandseniorservicesindicatingtheindividualiscompliantwiththe
31trainingrequirements.Expensesincurredforattendingthetrainingsessionmaybe
32reimbursedtothecountycoronerinthesamemannerasotherexpensesasmaybe
33appropriatedforthatpurpose.Allelectedorappointedcoroners,deputycoroners,and
34assistantstothecoronershallcompletetheannualtrainingdescribedinthissubsectionwithin
35sixmonthsofelectionorappointment.
36 3.Thecountycoronerinanycountynothavingacharterformofgovernmentshall
37not,exceptupontwo-thirdsvoteofallthemembersofthesalarycommission,receivean
38annualcompensationinanamountlessthanthetotalcompensationbeingreceivedforthe
39officeofcountycoronerintheparticularcountyforservicesrenderedorperformedonthe
40datethesalarycommissionvotes.
41 4.Forthetermbeginningin1997,thecompensationofthecoroner,incountiesin
42whichthesalarycommissionhasnotvotedtopayonehundredpercentofthemaximum
43allowablesalary,shallbeapercentageofthemaximumallowablesalaryestablishedbythis
44section.Thepercentageappliedshallbethesamepercentageofthemaximumallowable
45salaryreceivedorallowed,whicheverisgreater,tothepresidingcommissionerorsheriff,

52 5.EffectiveJanuary1,1997,thecountycoronerinanycountynothavingacharter

55threeormoredecedentsinthesameincidentduringsuchmonth.Theadditional
56compensationshallbeanamountthatwhenaddedtotheregularcompensationthesumshall
57equalthemonthlycompensationofthecountysheriff.
[58.200.Whentheofficeofsheriffshallbevacant,bydeathor
2 otherwise,thecoronerofthecountyisauthorizedtoperformalltheduties
3 whicharebylawrequiredtobeperformedbythesheriff,untilanothersheriff
4 forsuchcountyshallbeappointedandqualifiedandsuchcoronershallhave
5 noticethereof.Insuchcase,saidcoronermayappointoneormoredeputies,

55 3.Ifapublicadministratorisappointedbythecourtasbothaguardiananda
56conservatortothesamewardorprotectee,itshallbeconsideredtwoletters.
57 4.Notwithstandingsubsection2or5ofthissection,uponmajorityapprovalby
58thesalarycommission,apublicadministratormaybepaidaccordingtotheassessed
59valuationschedulesetforthinsubdivision(5)ofsubsection2ofthissection.Ifthe
60salarycommissionelectstopayapublicadministratoraccordingtotheassessed
61valuationschedule,thesalarycommissionshallnotelecttochangeatanyfuturetimeto

64 5.Theinitialcompensationofthepublicadministratorwhoelectstobeputonsalary
65shallbedeterminedbytheaveragenumberoflettersforthetwoyearsprecedingtheterm
66whenthesalaryiselected.Salaryincreasesordecreasesaccordingtotheminimumschedule
67setforthin[subsection1of]thissectionshallbeadjustedonlyafterthenumberofopen
68lettersplacestheworkloadinadifferentsubdivisionfortwoconsecutiveyears.Minimum
69salaryincreasesordecreasesshallonlytakeeffectuponanewtermofofficeofthepublic
70administrator.Thenumberofletterseachyearshallbedeterminedinaccordancewiththe
71reportingrequirementssetforthinlaw.
72 [4.]6.Allfeescollectedbyapublicadministratorwhoelectstobesalariedshallbe
73depositedinthecountytreasuryorwiththetreasurerforthecityofSt.Louis.
74 [5.]7.Anypublicadministratorinacountyofthefirstclassificationwithoutacharter
75formofgovernmentwithapopulationoflessthanonehundredthousandinhabitantswho
