Thisbillcreatesthe"MissingandMurderedWomenTaskForce"with
membershipasprovidedinthebill.TheTaskForcemustelecta
chairpersonandmustholdaninitialmeetingbeforeOctober1,
2025.ThemembersoftheTaskForcearespecifiedinthebilland
include:twomembersoftheHouseofRepresentatives, oneappointed
bytheSpeakeroftheHouseandonebytheMinorityFloorLeader;
andtwomembersoftheSenate,oneappointedbythePresidentPro
TemoftheSenateandonebytheMinorityFloorLeader.
TheTaskForcewillsubmitareporttotheGovernorandGeneral
AssemblyonorbeforeDecember31stofeachyearregardingpolicies
andmeasurestoaddress:
(1)Violenceagainstwomenandgirls;
(2)Policiesandinstitutionssuchaspolicing,childwelfare,
coronerpractices,andothergovernmentalpracticesthatimpact
violenceagainstwomenandgirls,andtheinvestigationand
prosecutionofcrimesofgenderviolenceagainstwomenandgirls;
(3)Measuresnecessarytoaddressandreduceviolenceagainst
womenandgirls;and
(4)Measurestohelpvictims,victims'families,andvictims'
communitiespreventandhealfromviolencethatoccursagainst
womenandgirls.
TheTaskForcewillexpireonDecember31,2027,unlessthe
DepartmentofPublicSafetydeterminestheTaskForceshouldbe
extendeduntilDecember31,2029.
