Currently,theDivisionofYouthServicesisprohibitedfrom keepingayouthbeyondtheyouth's18thbirthday. Thisbillallows theDivisiontokeepayouthuntiltheyouth's19thbirthday. Thebillamendsthedefinitionsof"adult"and"child"inChapter 455,RSMo,relatedtoprotectiveordersresultingfromadultabuse. Currently,"adult"isdefinedasanyperson17yearsofageor older,and"child"isdefinedasanypersonunder17yearsofage. Thisbillincreasestheagereferencefrom17to18.
