promulgateregulations,byDecember31,2025,regardingtaperinga
patientoffofopioidsforallhealthcareprofessionalswiththe
authoritytoprescribeopioids. Theregulationsmustbeconsistent
withthemostrecentiterationoftheCentersforDiseaseControl
andPrevention'sGuidelineforPrescribingOpioidsforChronic
Pain.TheDepartmentmustreviewandupdate,asnecessary,the
regulationseveryfiveyears.
