Thisbillmodifiesthedefinitionof"qualifiedschool"forthe
purposesoftheMissouriEmpowermentScholarshipAccountsProgram.
Thebillrequirescharterschools,privateschools,andpublic
schoolstomeetcertainrequirementsinordertobeconsidered
qualifiedschoolsfortheprogram. Underthebillqualified
schoolsmustfollowtheminimumschooltermprovisionsestablished
bylaw,providedyslexiaassessments,havestudentsparticipatein
moderatephysicalactivity,observeVeteransDay,provide
cardiopulmonary resuscitationinstruction,displaytheUnited
StatesflagandrecitethePledgeofAllegiance,provideaccessto
officialrecruitingrepresentatives ofthemilitary,setanopening
schooltermdateasprovidedbylaw,andfollowingprevailingwage
requirementsforschoolconstructionprojects.
