FIRST REGULAR SESSION SENATE BILL NO. 288 103RD GENERAL ASSEMBLY INTRODUCED BY SENATOR HENDERSON. 1380S.01I KRISTINA MARTIN, Secretary AN ACT To repeal section 478.690, RSMo, and to enact in lieu thereof one new section relating to associate circuit judges in the twenty-fourth judicial circuit. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Missouri, as follows: Section A. Section 478.690, RSMo, is repealed and one new 1 section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 478.690, 2 to read as follows:3 478.690. 1. There shall be two circuit judges in the 1 twenty-fourth judicial circuit consisting of the counties of 2 Madison, St. Francois, Ste. Genevieve and Washington. These 3 judges shall sit in divisions numbered one and two. 4 2. The circuit judges in divisions one and two shall 5 be elected in 1982. 6 3. There shall be one additional associate circuit 7 judge in St. Francois County. The associate circuit judge 8 shall be appointed by the governor and shall serve until 9 January 1, 2027, and until his or her successor is duly 10 elected in 2026. This associate circuit judge shall not be 11 included in the stat utory formula for authorizing additional 12 associate circuit judges per county as provided in section 13 478.320. 14
