An Act To Require The State Department Of Health To Establish The Canadian Prescription Drug Importation Program; To Define Certain Terms For The Purpose Of The Act; To Require The Department To Contract With A Vendor To Facilitate Wholesale Prescription Drug Importation Under The Program; To Specify The Responsibilities For The Vendor, Including The Payment Of A Bond; To Provide Eligibility Criteria For Prescription Drugs, Canadian Suppliers, And Importers Under The Program; To Authorize A Canadian Supplier To Export Drugs Into This State Under The Program Under Certain Circumstances; To Provide Eligibility Criteria And Requirements For Drug Importers; To Require Participating Canadian Suppliers And Importers To Comply With Specified Federal Requirements For Distributing Prescription Drugs Imported Under The Program; To Prohibit Canadian Suppliers And Importers From Distributing, Dispensing, Or Selling Prescription Drugs Imported Under The Program Outside Of This State; To Require The Department To Request Federal Approval Of The Program And Require The Request To Include Certain Information; To Require The Department To Begin Operating The Program Within Six Months After Receiving Federal Approval; To Provide For Certain Documentation Requirements For Vendors; To Require The Department To Suspend The Importation Of Drugs In Violation Of This Act Or Any Federal Or State Law Or Regulation; To Authorize The Department To Revoke The Suspension Under Certain Circumstances; To Require The Department To Submit An Annual Report To The Governor And The Legislative Officers By A Specified Date And Provide Requirements For Such Report; To Require The Department To Notify Legislative Officers Upon Federal Approval Of The Program And To Submit A Proposal To The Legislature For Program Implementation And Funding Before A Certain Date; To Require The Department To Adopt Rules Deemed Necessary To Implement This Act; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Amend Sections 83-11-17 And 83-11-19, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Remove The Requirement Of A Fifteen Dollar Filing Fee In Automobile Cancellation Or Nonrenewal Appeals; To Amend Section 83-17-251, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Exempt From Prelicensing Requirements Individuals Seeking Licensure In The Life Line Of Authority Only; To Amend Section 83-17-523, Mississippi Code Of 1972, To Clarify The Compensation Of A Public Adjuster; To Provide That A Public Adjuster Shall Not Participate In The Reconstruction, Repair Or Restoration Of Damaged Property That Is The Subject Of A Claim Adjusted By The Adjuster; To Provide That A Public Adjuster Shall Not Engage In Any Activities That May Be Reasonably Construed As A Conflict Of Interest; To Provide That A Public Adjuster Shall Not Have A Financial Interest In Any Salvage, Repair Or Any Other Business Entity That Obtains Business In Connection With Any Claim That The Public Adjuster Has A Contract To Adjust; To Provide That No Public Adjuster Shall Be Entitled To Any Payment, Commission, Fee Or Other Thing Of Value Of Any Insurance Settlement Or Agreed Settlement That Was Made Between The Insured And The Insurance Company Before The Public Adjuster And The Insured Entered Into A Contract For Service; To Provide That If An Insurance Company Extends A Written Settlement Offer To The Insured Before The Insured Enters Into A Contract With A Public Adjuster For Services, Then A Public Adjuster May Only Be Entitled To An Amount That Is No More Than 10% Of The Settlement Amount That Is In Excess Of The Amount That Was Offered In Writing To The Insured Prior To Entering Into The Contract With A Public Adjuster; To Authorize The Comprehensive Health Insurance Risk Pool Association To Establish An Online Portal To Assist Mississippians In Selecting A Health Plan; And For Related Purposes.

An Act To Create An Independent Dispute Resolution Process For Situations When A Large Health Insurer And A Large Health System Enter Into Contract Negotiations, And Those Negotiations Result In The Large Health System No Longer Being Within The Large Health Insurer's Network, And The Commissioner Of Insurance Finds That Such Exclusion Will Result In A Large Number Of Covered Persons Not Having Accessible Health Care Services Within A Geographic Area, Or A Large Number Of Covered Persons Not Having Reasonable Access To Covered Benefits Resulting In The Covered Persons Having To Receive Those Services Out Of Their Geographic Area, Or The Large Health System Is Considered An Essential Community Provider And The Exclusion Of The Large Health System Will Result In Significant Harm To Mississippi Citizens; To Provide Definition; To Authorize The Commissioner Of Insurance To Order The Parties To Attempt To Resolve The Dispute Through Mediation; To Provide The Procedure For The Mediation; To Provide That If The Mediation Is Unsuccessful, The Governor May Order That The Dispute Be Determined By Binding Arbitration; To Provide The Procedure For The Arbitration; And For Related Purposes.
