                    MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Public Health and Human Services By: Representatives Creekmore IV, Felsher, Anthony House Bill 570 (As Passed the House) AN ACT TO REQUIRE GOVERNMENTAL BODIES THAT EMPLOY OR CONTRACT FOR FULL-TIME CERTIFIED EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS (EMTS), PARAMEDICS, EMERGENCY MEDICAL RESPONDERS (EMRS), 911 DISPATCHERS  OR FIREFIGHTERS TO PROVIDE MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID TRAINING THAT IS EVIDENCE-BASED AND APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF MENTAL HEALTH TO ALL OF THOSE PERSONNEL BY JULY 1, 2031; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.      BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:      SECTION 1.  Each governmental body that employs or contracts for full-time emergency medical technicians (EMTs), paramedics or emergency medical responders (EMRs) who are certified by the State Department of Health, or 911 dispatchers, and each governmental entity that employs or contracts for full-time firefighters who are certified by the Mississippi Fire Personnel Minimum Standards and Certification Board, shall provide Mental Health First Aid training that is evidence-based and approved by the Department of Mental Health to all of those personnel by July 1, 2031.      SECTION 2.  This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 2025.
