MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Representatives Mangold, Pigott House Resolution 15 (As Adopted by House) A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MISS CODI WILSON UPON BEING CROWNED MISS RODEO CANADA 2025 AND RECOGNIZING HER DEDICATION TO THE SPORT OF RODEO AND WESTERN HERITAGE. WHEREAS, in December 2024, Codi Wilson, a proud fourth generation cowgirl from Sundre, Alberta, Canada, was crowned Miss Rodeo Canada 2025, a prestigious title that recognizes her dedication to the sport of rodeo and the promotion of western culture; and WHEREAS, growing up on a farm and in a rodeo family, Codi has been deeply immersed in the sport from a young age, competing in rodeos and embracing rodeo as more than a sport, but a way of life; and WHEREAS, her passion for sharing the traditions and values of rodeo flourished through her experiences as Alberta High School Rodeo Queen and Miss Rodeo Edmonton, where she dedicated herself to mentoring young rodeo queens and expanding awareness of the sport; and WHEREAS, in addition to her equestrian accomplishments, Codi recently completed her bachelor of arts/bachelor of education combined degree from the University of Lethbridge, with a major in indigenous studies and a minor in kinesiology; and WHEREAS, Codi is committed to continuing her efforts to preserve and promote western heritage, sharing the rich traditions of rural life, and serving as an ambassador for rodeo and its community; and WHEREAS, as Miss Rodeo Canada 2025, Codi will represent the values of the western way of life at rodeo events across North America, engaging with the public, mentoring future rodeo queens, and fostering appreciation for the sport and its history; and WHEREAS, it is the policy of the House of Representatives to recognize and honor outstanding individuals such as Miss Codi Wilson, who exemplifies dedication, passion, and leadership within the rodeo community and beyond: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we commend and congratulate Miss Codi Wilson upon being crowned Miss Rodeo Canada 2025 and extend our best wishes for her continued success in her reign and all her future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Miss Codi Wilson, the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association and to the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
