MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) DeBar Senate Resolution 106 A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING THE COACHES FROM ACROSS MISSISSIPPI WHO HAVE BEEN CHOSEN FOR THE "TOMORROW'S 25 COACHING FELLOWSHIP" PROGRAM. WHEREAS, the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" Program is presented by the Mississippi Association of Coaches (MAC), the Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA), and the University of Mississippi's School of Education (UM SOE); and WHEREAS, the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" seeks to annually select and invest in 25 future leaders for Mississippi in the area of high school and middle school athletics; and WHEREAS, the following candidates were chosen for the 2024-2025 cohort: Barrett Barham (Clinton Public School District), Daniel Best (Rankin County School District), Tyler Brock (Cleveland School District), Dameon Brown (Jackson Public School District), Jazzmine Church (Rankin County School District), Anna Grace Cooley (George County School District), Jerrial Dawson (Starkville-Oktibbeha School District), Rasheed DeBerry (East Tallahatchie School District), Justin Edwards (Gulfport School District), Shanice Griffin (Petal School District), Devin Hill (Biloxi Public Schools), Shasta Husband (Laurel School District), Taylor Karr (Desoto County Schools), Laine Marler (Rankin County School District), Ashley Martin (Oxford School District), Zariah Matthews (Madison County Schools), Roderick Moore (Tate County School District), Sharon Murray (Jones County School District), Gabe Myles (Biloxi Public Schools), Kelsie Poole (Rankin County School District), Brittany Roberts (Meridian Public School District), Shelby Sheppeard (Western Line School District), Terrance Steele, Sr. (Meridian Public School District), Shayna Tumer (Petal School District), and Darius Wren (Kemper County School District); and WHEREAS, all 25 candidates were identified by a selection committee of peers, and represent the best the state has to offer based off their competency, character, and commitment to their school and community; and WHEREAS, the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" seeks to assist in three areas of growth for each candidate: Coaching the Whole Athlete (Leadership, Resilience, Empathy, and Responsibility), the opportunity to network with 24 of their peers who have demonstrated the capacity to be our state's future leaders in athletics, and access to current leaders in the Associations (MAC, MHSAA) and College Athletics to learn how they can grow their spheres of influence in their communities and across the state; and WHEREAS, the ultimate goal of the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" is for the selected candidates to have this time to deliberately work on their craft in a cohort of their peers, so that ultimately their student-athletes and overall communities benefit for years to come: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and congratulate the coaches from across Mississippi who have been chosen for the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" Program, and extend best wishes for continued success in the future. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to the "Tomorrow's 25 Coaching Fellowship" coaches and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
