MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) Parker Senate Resolution 151 A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND CONGRATULATING MS. JENNIFER STROUPE, CPO, UPON THE HONOR OF RECEIVING THE MISSISSIPPI AND NATIONAL PARA-OPTOMETRIC OF THE YEAR AWARD AND COMMENDING HER DEDICATION TO THE FIELD OF OPTOMETRY. WHEREAS, the American Optometric Association (AOA), American Optometric Student Association (AOSA), and the AOA Foundation has announced the 2025 recipients of the organizations' annual awards, which include Ms. Jennifer Stroupe, CPO, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, for the National Para-Optometric of the Year Award. Jennifer had previously received the Mississippi Para-Optometric of the Year Award. These prestigious awards honor outstanding member doctors, partners and organizations for their exceptional contributions and unwavering dedication in advancing the profession and promoting the visual welfare of the public; and WHEREAS, Jennifer began her career at Olive Branch Eyecare in March of 2013 and was named the Practice Manager in 2014. Jennifer manages Olive Branch Eyecare, Horn Lake Eyecare and Desoto Family Vision. Jennifer holds many certifications, including CPO from the AOA and CCA from the American Health Information Management Association. Jennifer has written two articles for Paraoptometric education and is currently serving on the CPC CE Review Committee Team B for the AOA; and WHEREAS, in 2023, Jennifer lectured for the AOA Para Speakers course on billing for surgical procedures and she lectured at the Mississippi Optometric Associations Conference in 2024. In 2019 and 2024, Jennifer was named Mississippi Paraoptometric of the Year; and WHEREAS, Jennifer is respected by her profession. Her contributions have not only enhanced the quality of care provided by the practices she manages but have also significantly advanced the profession in the State of Mississippi; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we join the optometric profession in recognizing this distinguished award, which brings honor to Jennifer's practice, her community and to the State of Mississippi: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby recognize and congratulate Ms. Jennifer Stroupe, CPO, upon the honor of receiving the Mississippi and National Para-Optometric of the Year Award and commend her dedication to the field of optometry.
