MISSISSIPPI LEGISLATURE 2025 Regular Session To: Rules By: Senator(s) England Senate Resolution 81 A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING ANGELA SIMS, FOR BEING SELECTED AS "INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR" REPRESENTING THE JACKSON COUNTY CAMPUS OF MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. WHEREAS, Angela Sims, a resident of Vancleave, Mississippi, has been selected as " Instructor of the Year" at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of distinguished service to the college; and WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and WHEREAS, Angela Sims, a Math and Computer Science Instructor, has been employed at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for 21 years; and WHEREAS, she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Mathematics from The University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Math Education Degree from William Carey University; and WHEREAS, Angela has worked as a Mathematics Adjunct Instructor and as a full-time Mathematics Instructor her entire career with Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College; and WHEREAS, it is with great pride that we recognize and commend an outstanding teacher, who has dedicated her career to teaching individuals of this state: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate Angela Sims for being selected as the "Instructor of the Year" representing the Jackson County Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and extend to her our heartiest wishes of success in all her future endeavors. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That this resolution be presented to Angela Sims, forwarded to the President of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, and made available to the Capitol Press Corps.
