4 A BILL FOR AN ACT ENTITLED: “AN ACT ESTABLISHING THE DANNY L. RADISH HIGHWAY IN LINCOLN
5 COUNTY; DIRECTING THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO INSTALL SIGNS AT THE
6 LOCATION AND TO INCLUDE THE HIGHWAY ON THE NEXT PUBLICATION OF THE STATE HIGHWAY
7 MAP; AMENDING SECTION 61-3-406, MCA; AND PROVIDING AN IMMEDIATE EFFECTIVE DATE.”

9 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish was born on June 8, 1949, in Minot, North
10 Dakota; and
11 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish served in the United States Marine Corps with
12 distinction; and
13 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish received the Silver Star for conspicuous
14 gallantry and intrepidity in action while serving with Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron Two Hundred Sixty-
15 Two, Marine Aircraft Group Sixteen, First Marine Aircraft Wing, in connection with combat operations on
16 February 12, 1970, in the Republic of Vietnam; and
17 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish received the Navy and Marine Corps Medal for
18 heroism while serving as crew chief aboard a CH-46E helicopter on the morning of November 15, 1982; and
19 WHEREAS, the Enlisted Aircrewman of the Year Award was established in honor of Master Gunnery
20 Sergeant Danny L. Radish for the most outstanding contribution by a Marine enlisted aircrewman and is
21 awarded annually; and
22 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish has lived in Eureka, Montana, for decades;
23 and
24 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish served as the safety director of the mill in
25 Eureka; and
26 WHEREAS, Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. Radish is a respected member of the Eureka
27 community; and
28 WHEREAS, the 69th Legislature of the State of Montana honors Master Gunnery Sergeant Danny L. ****

3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MONTANA:

5 NEW SECTION. Section 1. (1) There is established the Danny L.
6 Radish highway on highway 37 in Lincoln County.
7 (2) The department shall design and install appropriate signs marking the location of the Danny L.
8 Radish highway.
9 (3) Maps that identify roadways in the state must be updated to include the location of the Danny
10 L. Radish highway when the department updates and publishes the state maps.

12 Section 61-3-406, MCA, is amended to read:
13 "61-3-406. (1) In addition to all other fees and taxes
14 imposed by law, the applicant for a personalized license plate shall pay a fee of $25 $26 for the original
15 personalized license plate and a fee of $10 for each transfer or renewal of the personalized license plate.
16 (2) The revenue derived from the fee must be deposited in the state general fund."

18 NEW SECTION. Section 3. [Section 1] is intended to be codified as an
19 integral part of Title 60, chapter 1, part 2, and the provisions of Title 60, chapter 1, part 2, apply to [section 1].

21 NEW SECTION. Section 4. [This act] is effective on passage and approval.
