AN ACT TO APPROPRIAT E FUNDS TO EXPAND AC CESS TO CHILDREN IN THIS 2
STATE SEEKING TO PAR TICIPATE IN THE NORT H CAROLINA 3
PREKINDERGARTEN (NC PRE-K) PROGRAM. 4
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 5
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of 6
Health and Human Services, Division of Child Development and Early Education, the sum of 7
thirteen million three hundred thousand dollars ($13,300,000) in recurring funds for each year of 8
the 2025-2027 fiscal biennium to provide funds for slots to expand access for a child in this State 9
seeking to participate in the North Carolina Prekindergarten (NC Pre-K) program. 10
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2025. 11
