A BILL TO BE ENTITLED 1
AN ACT TO PROMOTE PU BLIC HEALTH BY PROHI BITING THE ADDITION OF 2
FLUORIDE FROM WATER SYSTEMS. 3
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts: 4
SECTION 1. G.S. 130A-325 is amended by adding a new subdivision to read: 5
"(7) The introducing or depositing of fluoride or any chemical containing fluoride 6
to a public water system by any person. This subdivision does not apply to (i) 7
any water treatment process where fluoride is naturally occurring in a water 8
source or (ii) the use of fluoride for an industrial or manufacturing process not 9
related to public water treatment." 10
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective January 1, 2026. 11
